first date post baby postponed

I want to cry because my parents had to cancel their trip to visit us this weekend...they were going to babysit our baby girl for one night while my husband and I had our first night out of the house since our baby was born last summer...I of course told my mom it was no problem at all, not to worry. I did not tell her about all the plans I had made including hiring a taxi to bring us to and from our destination so we could drink and not worry about it... I know it's not the end of the world...and it's better that they'll come another weekend when it isn't Valentine's Day - I HATE going out on that day because prices are inflated, service sucks and there are too many googly eyed couples...But this is a whining website and god damn it I needed to get that out. I hope your parents had a damn good excuse. And not the "we're old and weak" nonsense.

That sucks, Christy!

You know what you could always do? Call them and tell them you're in the hospital (see Marinka for ailment ideas), then when they frantically rush to be by your side, say "Ha! Kidding! The baby's all yours! Don't wait up!"

Hahaha you both made me laugh. Through my tears! Rain date is set for the next weekend. I think I'm going to book us a hotel room downtown - why not go all out!!!

VD is not an auspicious date for your first post-baby ALONE outing. See, even the initials are a warning...VD. Just think! You can turn this into a guilt trip on the 'rents that will result in multiple babysitting obligations.

I'm sorry that your plans got changed, that bites. But I think the getting a hotel room when you do get to go is a great idea! :-)

That just plain out sucks for you! If I could help, I totally would.

Get a room, but also go out, you'll enjoy interacting with others as an adult. :o)

They better not postpone the next one!
