I know that we all get busy

and sometimes you can't finish the book in time for our book group meeting.  I get it.  What I don't get is why you constantly have to say things like "I think the key to the whole novel is in the first chapter".  We already discussed the first chapters.  But there are thirty two others.  Maybe we can spend a few moments discussing them as well?

We used to have a woman in our book club who never read the book we chose but instead would tell us, in great detail, about another book that she was reading. In Korean. Maybe the phrase "book club" was too vague, insinuating that we were just there to discuss any book.
