Phone Eti Cat

Is there like some recent legislation or something that says that everyone who answers the phone in a medical office, including the vet's office has to sound bored, annoyed and generally like they're on life support. I mean, don't they realize that people calling maybe a little bit stressed or worried and would appreciate a soothing voice?

Really, I know that your job is the hardest this side of a mine, but really, perk the fuck up.

I cannot stand the ones who speak unnaturally slow.I retaliate by asking them to wait while I get my calendar or my insurance card or a pen.
