I'm sorry, you went to medical school?

Dear Foot Doctor
When I ask you what can be done In regards to my debilitating painful plantar fasciitis you telling me "You need to loose some weight, and you have to stay off your feet" is unhelpful. WTF man?? Do you listen to yourself when you speak? That sentence is a complete oxymoron. (unlike you, just a plain moron) How the hell am I supposed to do that? I also love how any time there is ever ANYTHING wrong with a heavy person is it immediately attributed to their weight. Because as we all know, thin people never ever get ill. It's a proven fact right? Clearly and all heavy people are grossly unhealthy and don't deserve any real medical treatment. No no, just the standard medical cure all for fat people "Just loose some weight"  Apparently all of life's problems would be solved by simply dropping that extra weight b/c as we have established, all thin people are happy and healthy. God forbid you should actually spend 5 minutes trying to diagnose or treat us. Staying off my feet is not an option, especially if I am to continue to loose weight, so you need to come up with something better.
Sincerely
Pissed off Patient

My sympathies, I had PF and apparently also had your doctor. Hey, doc, I'm gaining weight because I can't freaking walk, hellooo! Taping helped me get through the day until it healed, 6 months plus no thanks to the MD. Check out this taping recommendation: http://tinyurl.com/nh4n8n
Anything that supports the arch is good, and best of luck to you.

I actually saw an orthopedic surgeon for that among other ankle problems...he gave me a bunch of exercises to do...(of course I haven't done them) You may be able to look them up if it is seriously bad...

I had this years ago and my doc gave me a cordisone shot. the shot helped with the pain but the PF didn't go away because of the shot. Finally...it just went away. Has never come back so I'm not sure why they went away. Good luck and find a new DOC!

I had a great Dr, who taped my foot incorporating a gauze pad to support the arch. I quit wearing shoes with no support and bought a pair of Clarks, the first of several. That's the cure. Shoes with a good arch suport in them.

Yep, I have seen that same doctor apparently. A few times. I mean, I have great cholesterol levels, heart, no diabetes, all blood everything and everything internal is great...but everything else that is wrong with me is because I am fat? Plantar - fat. Swimmers ear - fat. Hairy legs - fat?
